Hello, anyone there?
16 August 2008 @ 03:38 pm
Okay, well, since it's a bit quiet in here I thought I'd better put my hand up and admit that I've just posted a ficlet - part of a slightly longer one that's been sitting on my hard drive for, yes, you guessed it, years - in the alias500community:

Okay, since I've lost sight of how to send messages on this system again, I thought I'd just put it here, on the assumption that those I was intending it to go to would see it:

The Retelling - an Alias rewatching community - for those of you who haven't watched the DVDs often enough yet :-)

Just a few lines to wish you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!!!

To do it, I'll post the text of a greetings card that is travelling around the mail here in Italy, and I'll try to translate it in English.
And let it be put on record that I failed it on almost all counts but... I still found it very  inspiring ;)

To those who love sleeping… but always wake up in a good mood,

To those who are late… but don’t look for excuses,

To those who turn the TV off… to have a chat,

To those who have the enthusiasm of a kid… and the thoughts of a man,

To those who think things look black… only when it is dark,

To those who do not wait for Christmas… to become a better person,

Best Wishes of a Merry Christmas and a New Year Full of Happiness!

AN: This chapter is only like what, half a year in the making? Its been eons since FS has been updated but the important fact is that I'm still updating, right? Hee. Again I'm posting on here first since I love BP and livejournal is a God when it comes to autoformatting. Also this chapter ended in a completely different direction than I had planned and wanted to but what I had orginally planned at the end but didn't want you guys have to wait even longer for an update so it will be penciled in next time. Loveness and hope you enjoy...!

Or fallen into the toliet, or jumped or a bridge, or died from exhaustion and stress... yet.  School sucks. I wonder how many more times I could say that before one of you would hit me. I've barely gotten to write fic this semester and it's really starting to wear on me. Between school, two jobs, and life I just can't wait until break.

Anyway, this is basically just me giving thoughts on everything since I've been pretty MIA for awhile just before I actually post something NEW!

I haven't been able to watch Big Shots since about the second episode and I caught the last 10 or so minutes on Thursday and realized the show is doomed. SPOILERS by the way. What the hell is MV kissing Katie so freaking soon! Like there was a reason we all sighed with joy when he kissed Syd in the rubble of SD-6. Because Alias dangled the relationship in our faces to the point of pain before letting anything truly happen. And could we be like a little more morally upset that she had no qualms about knowlingly being with a married man... especially since oh I don't know that's what James left his wife for? Why was the scene so short. For that matter, why were all the big shocking dun dun dun themes so short.... like whatshisface being fired. That's why I think the show is doomed. Too many major things happened in too short of time to where they don't even seem like big things anymore. Sad face. I really liked being able to flip on the TV and stare at MV every once and a while.

And just because I swear I'm not this normally psychotic... I caught like half of an House episode the other day - the one where he solves the case thing with the CIA guy. When they first flashed CIA guy I thought it was MV and even laughed out loud a little. Then they showed him again and it wasn't and I was sad, hahaha.

One main reason I came to post tonight is that this past week I was fishing through CDs to find one I hadn't listened to in a while when I came across a really old burned one. Well after about the 5th song I realized that it was my "fourth season Alias CD" hahaha. I had put a few songs from the show (Good Day, Everything's Alright, God Put a Smile Upon Your Face, etc.) as well as Lenny Kravitz's Lady which was the song they played on almost every promo commerical for the 4th season. Anyway, I was driving listening to the cd and felt depressed for a moment because I missed you guys and sd-6 since I never get anytime to spend on here anymore. As I said over there, we tried so hard and was so devastated during the summer that it might end and then it got to keep going and now I just feel bad that I don't get to enjoy it and show how much I love the place.

Also in other random news - I was studyin and overheard Ben Afleck on Jay Leno.. I think it was a rerun but not really sure... but he told this really cute story and him and Jen and it just made me go aww that they seem good and happy.

So, will anybody around here be watching the Big Shots premiere tonight? :grump: (as in :green with envy:) LOL

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it's the new show starring Michael Vartan and... a bunch of other people :P on ABC, in the timeslot after Grey's Anatomy.

I've been reading about the characters and plot of this show for a couple of months now, and two of them attracted my attention: James Walker, interpreted by Vartan - no! really? - and his secretary, Katie Graham, intepreted by actress Nia Long. She's brilliant, he's ... well, we know him , IMO, the potential of these two is just huge!!! So, I had fun writing a short "pre-show" fanfic - and the freedom you enjoy is just... awesome LOL

So, to follow this short piece, all you need to know is that James Walker's successful career at Amerimart seems to come to a halt when his boss confesses him his intention to "let him go". But before he can make it public, the boss dies suddenly of a heart attack (I think) and shortly afterwards James finds out that his wife, Stacey, was having an affair with him. Next, he has an interview with Amerimart's board of directors to take over his boss' job .

This short piece is set after these events...

Title: To the Rescue

Brief description: A kind of "prequel" to the relationship between James Walker and his secretary Katie Graham, because I know where I want to "land" these two before the show starts...

Rating: G

Disclaimers: the characters in this fiction are not mine, they belong to the new show created by John Feldman.

Off we go....

"Oh goodness, she's alive!"

Well guys, I come bearing fic... old ficage to be exact. Once again for like the nth time I'm revamping my first ever piece of fanfiction. I jumped off with a "novel-length" multi-chapter and I see now that back then I had no clue what I was falling into to. But! I've loved the fic world ever since I became a lurker on sd-1 and now I think I won't ever leave.

So, without further stalling or rambling.... I bring you the first couple of chapters of A Second Glance that I shall never edit again!

>> Prologue: In This Version

>> Chapter One: N'est Pas Bleu, C'est Vert

>> Chapter Two: Just Vaughn

>> Chapter Three: Sleeping Late and Red Crayons

>> Chapter Four: Nice -- Not Just Another Place in France

Title: Shatter
Rating: G
Word Count: 752, drabble
Genre: angstyness
Dedication: my pillow
AN: Well, this is completely different to what I normally write. But yesterday I was in that angry, black-cloud state and wanted to write something moody. So of course I don't actually write it until tonight... however it was all planned out yesterday. It might suck because I am beamstalks below the Alias angst godesses out there (damn, some of them can make you cry!). Anywho, I also wanted to get this out because I haven't even started working on new chapters for any other fics yet so I felt that if I at least pop some drabbles out every now and then then you all won't hate me too much, ;) Enjoy.

Title: Donner
Word Count: 3,656
Rating: PG-13/R? nothing horrible, just two f-bombs
AN: I think I hear the collective sighs of "Finally!" Once a million times again, I'm sorry it's taken so long for an update. Between computer trouble, sd-1 scare, and just generally having a summer, Donner wasn't getting a lot of love. But I have working on it slowly but surely and voila! Where Sydney is being held was inspired a year (years?) ago upon reading James Patterson's second book of his Maximum Ride series. From the second I read it, I know I wanted to incorporate it into Aliasland. (a little FYI, if any of you are Max Ride fans out there over the age of 10: how disappointed are you in JP for the 3rd book? James Patterson is an amazing writer whose done Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider, etc, but he seriously dropped the ball on that one. I highly suggest people read Wind the Wind Blows for Max and the gang but just stop once a certain person dies in the Lake House. The first two Max Ride off shoots have their good points but it's all down hill from there. He wants to water and dumb the books down for the new younger audience but he took it too far. Clearly all coming "children's" authors need to pick up one of the Harry Potter's and learn that kids are smart and you don't have to completely change you're writing style because the audience is 13 and not 30) Okay, sorry for the rant. I'm posting this here tonight and SD-6 tomorrow becuase LJ is wonderful about italics and I think our new little home should get a little special treatment.
